Whooo hoo! I said I was gonna keep all the Faerie cake for myself... you
and Priestess Lady C. are the only ones who got some... but the funny thing
is, Goddess requires a giveaway. No attachments or greed allowed!

The soaps I tried to be greedy about, are not keeping well. The top of
the Faerie cake is fading yellow, as are the luxurious facial/shaving soap
bars from the same batch... sigh. Too much nice moisturizing oil,
especially with a high facial clay content soaking up the fats so they do
not saponify, and the soap just doesn't keep, especially once it contacts
skin bacteria. Best to give it away, use it up before it rots!

I actually had to break the top off of a much used bar of Faerie cake,
and throw away the white part, it was not so nice anymore after being used
then sitting...

Cutting the Faerie cake bars smaller, into as much as can be used in a
week or two, helps slow down contamination. For most of the soaps there
has been no problems... just the cakes with icing, and shaving soaps are
slowly going strange.

Each batch that was not a cake was 30-50 bars, except the granny sticks
which were... 70? They are more popular for bathing than laundry... lovely
pure lard soap with a fresh hint of eucalyptus.

So I do still have quite a lot of soap left! I even have a whole big
cheese wheel of spice cake soap uncut... I'll probably cut it to give away
at a Sabbat... after I remove the bottom "crust" that was made of the
shaving soap, ground up and pressed.

Have not even been giving away the ones that turned out less than
perfect...

The icing yellowed, on most of the cakes. D.O.S, soapmakers call
it. "Dreaded Orange Spots", it means the oils are going rancid. I need to
cut the bad part off and repackage them. Myrtle dove, dreamy vanilla, sweet
almond, chocolate orange cake... all went strange on top. The bottom seems
to be ok though. They are up for grabs.

Gave the lemon cake to my family while I was in Calgary, except for 2
bars I kept for myself. It was still fine.. actually, fragrant and lovely,
because it did not get shrink wrapped too soon, like the other cakes.

Then I will have to send you a bigger box! :) I am packaging soap for
shipping, today!
