Those images are GIF images. Shrinking the image by the pixel size by
does not affect the file size. With GIF images, you take some color
out to reduce the file size.

Now, when I said take color out, take the color information that is
not really used or used only in small portion (only one pixel or a
few) to the point that will not affect the look of the images too
much.

I don't know how much I can reduce the file size over all, so it's
hard to say....

I personally think these pages are too heavy even after reducing
menu images file size. There are still many people using modem
and 56K have to wait almost 20 something second with best
connection which I doubt...

But then again, you have CD with all the site included right?
Since you have preview page where people can experience the
loading time, maybe you can put some information about CD
somewhere close to the front where people don't have to click
to jump around too much. I think this is the best way to solve
the problem.

That remind of me to take the hover out from the menu....
So here it is... Preview page with green and white menu
images only. No purple.

Here is the tips that I wrote before about imaging.

Here is some tip about images!

JPG images has millions of color when GIF image has 246.

JPG is good for photograph GIF is good for vector base images
or less color images.

When you are working with JPG, more pixel mean bigger file size.
It means 200pix X 200pix jpg image is bigger and heavier than
30pix x 30pix jpg image.

When you are working with GIF, more color means bigger file
size. It means 500pix X 500pix can be smaller or same as
10pix X 10pix. It's depends of how many color there is in the
image.

To reduce the file size of the JPG image, you can compress
which will lower the quality or you can reduce the size of the
image by shrinking them. ex 100 pix to 50pix

To reduce the file size of the GIF image, you can reduce the
amount of the color in the image.

NOTE!! Reducing pixel size of GIF image will not necessarily
reduce the file size unless you are taking some color out.
