No. I have photo deluxe, but it is useless.
For some unknown reason my transparent gif maker in ps5 pooped out too,
makes the program freeze if I try to use it.
Thus I have been saving images as max size jpg and opening them in
paintshoppro7 to reduce them... inefficiently. PSP5 has some handy tools
though, like an image map maker, and an image slicer that writes the code
for the mouseovers.. which I edit generously before using!
I made a psd folder in fscnew and saved the navlink template and some
other junk in there. Original templates for the green tables, etc. They
have guidelines to show where they were snipped to pieces, and there is a
template for the table title tab.
I think we are going to end up needing a guest essay table too... and a
"lesson links" navtable gif to replace the one that says "other links."
I was sifting through the lessons yesterday, having updated them all to
your template which I tweaked further...finding odd bits that will need
special handling. K and genetics lesson has a lengthy newspaper article
which is integral to the lesson. I'm not sure how to present it.
I tend to do things in sections, because the part of my brain that
writes code is not the same as the part that designs graphics and it can be
a rusty lever to shift modes. I try to anticipate everything I'll need
while making graphics, because once I move into code and then into content
I have no attention for going backwards to fix graphics... except at the
end, when I reduce the files I have ended up using and trash the useless. I
do keep a psd template .. the big layered files of most everything, making
backups as I go...
I'll be uploading the new files soon... kinda waiting for Sandra C.'s
lesson report, (Did I miss an email?) to delete the remaining
duplicates.... tweaking things... fixing essay fonts and headers, and
making my own notes about how I want to change the content of some lessons,
what the homework will be, etc.
I've got all the lessons open in homesite, and I keep shuffling through
them as I repair tiny dumb stuff like how the "next" button spacing and
horizontal alignment didn't match the others... turned out to be an extra
space, broken line of code. Two different ones, ... A way of expanding my
brain to encompass the course, as a whole.
That is the thing... my mind is moving into the content, now and the
hyperfocus of that means I need to pass the remaining code tweaking onto
helpers.
I said I could not comprehend it all, the whole of the course content,
at once... and at the time I said it, it was true, coz I was in coding mode...
I can hold all the lessons in my mind and know them, in a weird
Shakti-fired hyperfocus holistic trance, but I cannot sustain it for long
and will forget, after it passes.

Good.

Yes!

perfect. They are just code snippets, really.. copy and paste them where
I need them to hold odd bits of info.

We will need a scroll bar, for longer content, but the rest I dunno...
I think clean and simple is best, for a popup.
Do what you feel will work and look best. My only experience with
popups are the realplayer and audio windows in the course, and did not
make the template.

Perfect! I have decided to put the popup links folder into the main
directory, because they will help our search engine listings and generate
reciprocal links.
I don't want a subdirectory for the quotes popups. I'm thinking ahead to
when I must covert all this to CD... a simple file structure is better.
There are only a few files that will use the quotes template and they
will be named similar to the lesson they belong to with a _q at the end.
I'm pretty sure the spacing thing is on your end. Your popup template
looks like this:
<!-- Link table start here-->
<table width="450" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"
bgcolor="#009999">
<tr>
<td width="12" height="30"><img src="../../titles/ltopcorners.gif"
width="12" height="30" border="0" alt="right corner"></td>
<td background="../../titles/topbars.gif" width="429" height="30"
align="right"><img src="../../titles/lessonlink.gif" width="153"
height="31" border="0" alt="Links related to this lesson."></td>
<td width="11" height="30" align="right"><img
src="../../titles/rtopcornerst.gif" width="11" height="31" border="0"
alt="right corner"></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td width="12" background="../../titles/lsides.gif"><img
src="../../titles/lsides.gif" width="12" height="9" border="0" alt="Left
side."></td>
<td><!---OFF SITE LINKS contents start here --->
With the tabledata indented and scattered one tag per line. I think it
might be something in the settings that "beautfiy"ies the code while
opening or saving the file.
I compress it to long lines, like this:
<!-- Link table start here-->
<table width="450" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"
bgcolor="#009999"><tr><td width="12" height="30"><img
src="../titles/ltopcorners.gif" width="12" height="30" border="0"
alt="right corner"></td><td background="../titles/topbars.gif" width="429"
height="30" align="right"><img src="../titles/lessonlink.gif" width="153"
height="30" border="0" alt="Links related to this lesson."></td><td
width="11" height="30" align="right"><img src="../titles/rtopcornerst.gif"
width="11" height="30" border="0" alt="right corner"></td></tr><tr><td
width="12" background="../titles/lsides.gif"><img
src="../titles/lsides.gif" width="12" height="9" border="0" alt="Left
side."></td>
<td><!---OFF SITE LINKS contents start here --->
To save space, prevent table errors and get the code tucked away into
tidy chunks separate from the content. As you can see, I already changed
the links for its new location. It is in the new links directory labeled
1linkform_p.html
Blessings!
